Small copper (Lycaena phlaeas)
Despite its orange-colored wings, the small copper butterfly also belongs to the blue butterfly family. Both sexes have the same coloration on the upper and lower sides of their wings. They have a wingspan of between 22 and 27 mm. These butterflies are mainly found in open areas with sparse vegetation. Between three and four generations of this butterfly fly each year. The most important food plants for the caterpillars are various species of sorrel.
