Common heath (Ematurga atomaria)
The common heath moth is a moth from the family Geometridae. This moth has a wingspan of between 22 and 34 mm. The females have a white base color, while the males have an ochre base color. Both sexes have brown lilies on their wings. The heath moth can be found throughout Europe. Two generations fly each year. The caterpillars prefer to feed on papilionaceous plants.

Burnet companion (Euclidia glyphica)
One of the more common owlet moths, found in places such as rough pastureland. The upper side of the wings is marked with two dark brown cross bands. The moths have a wingspan of between 25 and 30 mm. The caterpillar’s food plants include bird’s-foot trefoil, alfalfa, and clover species. The caterpillars can reach a length of approx. 40 mm. Unlike the moths, they are exclusively nocturnal.

Chimneyย sweeperย (Odezia atrata)
Due to its small size and black color, this moth is often overlookedโit is a moth that is active both at night and during the day. They have a very uncertain flight and are therefore unmistakable. In Swabia, the moth is also called โKaminfegerleโ (chimney sweep). The moth has a wingspan of between 20 and 30 mm. The caterpillars can be found on various species of cow parsley and on meadow chervil.
